Filling in Forms Requires Caution

The magazine ‘future’ asked the Data Protection Coordinator of the St. Pölten UAS how concerned she is with the protection of her personal data, what she does to guard them, and how liberal she (sometimes) is with them.

Handling of data:

I’m very much involved with this topic professionally, so some of it inevitably finds its way into my private life as well. I’m one of the few people who consciously read data protection regulations.

Protection of personal data:

When I fill in a form, I provide only the necessary data and make sure that I don‘t agree to the use of my data for marketing purposes. When I enter data online, I pay attention to a secure connection.

(Liberal) handling of personal data:

I do use WhatsApp and Facebook but I rarely post anything on Facebook and when I do, only my friends can read it. When it comes to WhatsApp, I’m aware that my data are stored on a foreign server and there is a risk that these might be read by third parties.
