Short profile

  • Doctoral studies in Sociology at the Paris Lodron University Salzburg; dissertation title: “The Production of Statelessness: Governmental-Institutional Work in Dealing with Stateless Persons in Austria” (2024). My dissertation deals with statelessness in the context of flight migration to Austria and investigates the everyday decision-making processes and administrative practices in Austrian state authorities regarding the identification of stateless persons. In line with sociological institutionalism and underpinned by a multi-method approach which incorporates grounded theory and qualitative-ethnographic data, my thesis contributes to constructivist sociological theories on the production of precarious legal status at the organizational level.
