European Master in Social Work

Application to join a European Master Program

Two themes are central to Social Work: combating poverty and promoting social inclusion. This is also acknowledged by the European Union, in declaring 2010 the European Year for combating poverty and social exclusion. So, the application under the Lifelong Learning Programme of the EU for developing this European Master in 2009 was well timed, and proved to be successful.

The central themes of Social Work may be the same within Europe, the approaches to deal with them differ. Bringing together these different approaches and work on a joint approach is the ultimate rationale and strength of this Master degree programme. It intends to improve the quality of Social Work in a European context, and addresses the needs of the professional field in Social Work.
