Diversity Matters – meeting the challenges of plurality and differences in/for Social Work

Diversity matters. We all know that. Yet, it takes some extra effort to meet the challenges of pluralism and difference/s in social work practice and teaching. Social work needs to take the global context into consideration to focus on Human Rights, to encompass a strong ecological sensitivity and to incorporate a social development perspective.

How can we improve our ability to meet these challenges? What are our experiences in using different theories and training tools in order to increase diversity awareness and fight existing stereotypes and discrimination within social work practice?

What does good practice mean in the management of diversity? Is it something to "manage" after all?

How can we strengthen attitudes of antidiscrimination and ensure the well-being for all people in all their difference?
