Continuing Education Course

The part-time course provides the comprehensive knowledge needed for a career in the dynamic field of public relations. The continuing education can be completed as an academic course or master course.

Professional public relations is highly valued in the business world of today. The development of suitable strategies as well as the use of online-communication and social-media channels are essential for the (communication) success of companies. Those responsible for public relations not only attach great importance to the creation of an ideal concept, but also write effective public-relations texts as a central role in their work. In order for a company to be able to demonstrate strength in crisis situations and maintain a positive image, professionally trained public-relations experts are needed.

Target group

The course is aimed at people who want to engage in public relations on a professional level as well as newcomers who want to enter this growing digital professional field.

Educational contents

Graduates of this modular continuing education in Public Relations and Communications Management are able to:

  • advise the management of a company with regard to basic PR- strategy or PR-planning,
  • assess the communicative impact of decisions,
  • define specific objectives for communications work,
  • recognize communications interdependencies,
  • realise, implement and evaluate communications projects and measures. 

Practice orientation

The academic course provides hands-on training in the pivotal areas of PR and communications management. The contents of the academic course as well as the master course are taught on a theoretical level as well as by means of concrete practical exercises. The lecturers are primarily experts from the field, who bring sound know-how directly from the industry.

Cooperation partners

This continuing education is a cooperation between the study programmes Media and Communications Consulting of St. Pölten UAS and the study programme Information Media Communications of Burgenland UAS.
