Leisure activities on and off Campus

The cultural facilities in the Kulturbezirk, as well as summer festivals, bars and restaurants - St. Pölten has plenty of leisure hot spots. And action and physical recreation comes courtesy of the university's own sports club.

Experiencing culture and the arts

The Kulturbezirk – which includes the Lower Austrian State Theatre, Festspielhaus, Bühne im Hof as well as various stand-up comedy stages – and an extensive cultural and event calendar guarantee a diverse programme throughout the year. And museums, galleries and an open-air cinema provide a wide range of options for art and movie lovers.

Music at St. Pölten UAS

The St. Pölten UAS Choir is constantly expanding its musical repertoire, covering a wide variety of music styles and genres. New voices are always welcome.

Team spirit in sports

If you're looking for some physical exercise to freshen up after a hard day's studying, Campus Sport, our sports club, is just the ticket.
From dance training to team sports, the club offers sports enthusiasts plenty of options.

Hip cafés and traditional taverns

From cosmopolitan cuisine to local taverns with refined wine and beer culture. The cosy outdoor cafés and restaurants at Rathausplatz and Herrenplatz in the city are the perfect place to chill, while there are also several traditional Austrian wine taverns within walking distance.

St. Pölten@night

Night owls will also get their share of places to go: in the bars and clubs, you can party and dance into the small hours. And many cafés serve breakfast for late risers.

Be part of it instead of just taking part

The Frequency music festival in St. Pölten is popular among our students. Some of them also do a great job behind the scenes.

Explore the city on two wheels

Jumping on a bike is a great way to explore St. Pölten. You can also rent a scooter at the university for a small fee. In summer and winter alike, St. Pölten is the ideal cycling city.

Unspoiled nature just a stone’s throw away

Just a short trip away from the university, the recreational areas by the Viehofen lakes are the perfect venue for sports and leisure activities. Whether it's swimming and beach volleyball in summer or skating and ice hockey in winter – the lakes are one of the coolest places in the city to chill out.
