Project KAVA-Time: Christian Moser (Vice President WKNÖ), Provincial Petra Bohuslav, Wolfgang Aigner and Alexander Rind (St. Pölten UAS), Erwin Krammer (Deputy Mayor of Krems)

Three projects of St. Pölten UAS received recognition certificates at the Lower Austrian Innovation Award ceremony: the project upribox (Usable Privacy Box) for internet-privacy protection, the platform www.it-sicher.kaufen for IT-security when purchasing products and the research project KAVA-Time (Knowledge-Assisted Visual Analytics Methods for Time-Oriented Data) which deals with the visualisation of large amounts of data.

Prize for research in digital healthcare

Another award went to the "IntelliGait" project: the 2017 MTD-Innovation Award presented by MTD-Austria, the umbrella organisation for Austrian higher medical-technical services. In this project, St. Pölten UAS has developed pattern-recognition methods that automatically analyse data from gait analysis and classify it according to possible impairments to the musculoskeletal system. An evaluation is always carried out by experts supported by the preceding automatic analysis.

"The project awards at St. Pölten UAS show the high quality of the research and the practical relevance of the work. In recent years, we have grown continuously both qualitatively and quantitatively in the area of research. Today, St. Pölten UAS is one of the strongest research universities of applied sciences in Austria", said Hannes Raffaseder, Authorised Signatory and Head of Research and Knowledge Transfer at St. Pölten UAS.
