Health Promotion & Healthy Ageing
Health promotion, early diagnosis and prevention are the most effective and economical measures to counter the further rise of chronic diseases and to achieve healthy, self-determined and active aging. The Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) develops interdisciplinary health promotion and prevention programmes for target groups of all ages, which accompany and support a sustainable lifestyle change.
Clinical & Healthcare Research
The IHS conducts research, evaluation and development to improve dietetic, nursing and physiotherapeutic practice. Evaluations that examine the efficacy of newly developed as well as established assessments, interventions, diagnostic and therapeutic devices and care concepts are an essential component of the research activity (Evidence Based Practice). In addition, IHS develops innovative technology-based solutions for therapy, care and rehabilitation.
Education & Lifelong Learning for Health Professionals
In order to optimally prepare students for the challenges of their professional life and to support professionals in lifelong-learning, the IHS didactically develops and evaluates high-quality, technology-based solutions for education and further education in the healthcare professions.
