Course Content

Bachelor programme Media and Communications Consulting

The programme is divided into a basic course (semesters 1 to 3) and an advanced course (semesters 4 to 6).

In the basic course students acquire competences in:

  • Communication and foreign language skills

Specialisations

The advanced course permits students to specialize.Two out of the following four modules are to be chosen

Event management

Along with the conception and planning of events this module also includes the topics events and law, event technology as well as dramaturgy and production of events. In the fifth semester a lecture is dedicated to special areas of event management. The Praxis Laboratory enables students to apply their acquired theoretical content in projects.

Media and communication planning

In this module students receive input in lectures about contents and structures of Austrian media studies as well as about application fields of media and communication planning. In the second part they learn about special fields of media and communication planning and work independently on projects in the framework of a Praxis Laboratory.

Advertising and dialogue marketing

After the topical basic lectures advertising and dialogue marketing students deal with the conception of advertising campaigns and with the design of classic and direct means of advertising. In projects with cooperative partners valuable experience is acquired in the Praxis Laboratory Advertising and dialogue marketing.

Public relations

In this specialisation the focus is on PR-conception and PR-tools. In a writing class necessary tools are taught enabling students to write PR-messages. In the Praxis Laboratory public relations knowledge acquired in lectures about special fields of public relations is applied.
