At the Department Head of Health Sciences at St. Pölten UAS, three bachelor programmes, one master programme and three further education programmes train students to participate in a modern healthcare system.

Kdolsky is a trained specialist in anaesthesiology, intensive care and pain therapy. She is the owner and managing director of the “Andrea Kdolsky Consulting Unternehmensberatung und -organisation für Gesundheitswirtschaft” (management consultancy and organisation for the healthcare sector) as well as Associated Partner of the ICME Hospital Management and member of the steering committee of SABES (Südtiroler Sanitätsbetriebe – health authority South Tyrol).
In 2007 and 2008, Kdolsky was Federal Minister for Health, Family and Youth, previously CEO of NÖ Landeskliniken Holding (hospital holding company Lower Austria). From 2009 to 2014, she was Executive Director of Life Sciences, Healthcare Services & Pharmaceuticals at PwC Austria.

Education for a Modern Healthcare System
The Department of Health Sciences of the St. Pölten UAS trains students for a modern healthcare system. Currently almost 600 full-time and part-time students are enrolled in the bachelor programmes Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Healthcare & Nursing as well as in the interdisciplinary master programme Digital Healthcare and the further education programme Applied Nutritional Therapy. Starting in 2020, the department will also offer the further education programmes “GAIT – Analysis and Rehabilitation” as well as “Start-Up Competence Dietetics”.
Researchers at the Institute of Health Sciences and the Center for Digital Health Innovation of the St. Pölten UAS accompany and support the study programmes. The applied research focuses on health promotion and disease prevention, therapy and rehabilitation as well as quality assurance in the three interdisciplinary research areas
- Health Promotion & Healthy Ageing,
- Clinical & Healthcare Research and
- Education & Lifelong Learning for Health Professionals.
In the Center for Digital Health Innovation, the St. Pölten UAS combines its expertise and energies in interdisciplinary research at the interface of health sciences, social sciences and digitalisation in order to consider the increasingly important information and communication technology in the healthcare sector and to develop innovative approaches.
The department collaborates with more than 400 regional, national and international healthcare organisations in the areas of teaching, research and practice.
