St. Pölten UAS Turns Employees of Eight Partner Companies into Digital Professionals
There is a serious shortage of skilled professionals in the IT sector – which makes it all the more important to set new standards in (further) education. With its “Digital Pro Bootcamps”, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs supports four research institutions and 41 project partners with a total of EUR 1.7 million. As of January 2020, the St. Pölten UAS is going to head the “Data Science Bootcamp”, a nine-week training for staff members of eight small and large companies. The bootcamp is promoted with a subsidy of EUR 440,000.
Intensified Knowledge Transfer
“We are very pleased with the Ministry’s confidence in our IT and security expertise. With the Data Science Bootcamp, we offer our partner companies the opportunity to turn their employees into Digital Professionals”, Marlies Temper (Academic Director of the study programme Data Science and Business Analytics) and Helmut Kaufmann (Head of the Department of Computer Science & Security) express their satisfaction.
“The St. Pölten UAS offers future-oriented education programmes in the fields of data science and IT security and maintains a lively exchange with the business world. The Data Science Bootcamp further intensifies the transfer of knowledge between the university and the companies – which provides advantages for research, economy and students”, emphasises Gernot Kohl, Executive Director of the St. Pölten UAS.
