The Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research has made Katalin Szondy, Head of the Service Unit for Higher Education Development at the St. Pölten UAS, a member of the team of National Experts for the European Higher Education Area.
The European Higher Education Area is an initiative with numerous benefits for students, university staff members and researchers: exchange programmes, the comparability of academic degrees, and cooperation programmes.
Consultation and Exchange
The tasks of the National Experts for the European Higher Education Area include advisory visits to universities, participation in the planning and implementation of project events and activities, contributions based on their respective expertise, and involvement in seminars, workshops and peer learning activities in the European Higher Education Area.
The National Experts are part of the project “INternationalisation/INclusion/INnovation: Towards high-quality inclusive mobility and innovative teaching & learning in an internationalised Austrian Higher Education Area” subsidised by the European Union within the programme ERASMUS+.
The Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) coordinates the project which provides a broad spectrum of counselling, training and information offers for the Austrian higher education sector.
Strategy for Internationalisation
By participating in the group of experts, the St. Pölten UAS also becomes part of the Bologna Follow Up Group for information exchange and knowledge transfer with regard to the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna process.
“This fits in very well with our UAS strategy which places great value on the consistent implementation of the directives and recommendations of the European Higher Education Area. Furthermore, it shows that we at the St. Pölten UAS have the relevant expertise when it comes to the European Higher Education Area”, says Katalin Szondy.
Bologna Day 2019
