CAMPUS 02 UAS, JOANNEUM UAS, Upper Austria UAS (Campus Wels), St. Pölten UAS, Technikum Wien UAS and Vorarlberg UAS as well as the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria (AQ Austria) and 3s Unternehmensberatung GmbH (3s Business Consulting Ltd) have merged in the platform "Dual Studies in Austria".

The platform website provides an overview and orientation for students and companies. The participating institutions have also formulated a definition and characteristics for dual studies and coordinated them with the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy.

Studying with salary

A dual study combines theoretical phases at a university of applied sciences and comprehensive practical phases in a partner company. Practical and training blocks in the company are integrated into the curriculum as fixed components according to the specifications of the respective university of applied sciences. Through a training contract, study and profession are even more closely interwoven than in conventional part-time study programmes.

"The dual-study model makes it possible to optimally train students in line with the operational requirements or companies. Companies directly participate in practice-oriented training and with this unique model increase the attractiveness of your career entry in the job market. The advantages of a dual study for students are: salary during study, higher practical relevance through direct involvement in the company organisation and the support of engaged mentors in the company and at the university", said Franz Fidler, Head of the Dual Study Programme, Smart Engineering of Production Technologies and Processes at St. Pölten UAS.
