The Summer School Lower Austria is a pan-European and professionally-oriented event on the topic of "The Future of Production: Augmented and Virtual Reality" with all its aspects in the fields of smart manufacturing, smart automation, smart process and smart engineering.

In application-oriented workshops, participants will learn practical strategies and methods in order to reflect upon, design and implement aspects of Industry 4.0. The Summer School Lower Austria is organised by the Zukunftsakademie Mostviertel (Future Academy Mostviertel) in cooperation with the Niederösterreichs Wirtschaftsagentur ecoplus (Lower Austrian Business Agency ecoplus) and St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences.

Insight and exchange for manufacturing companies

The main objective of the Summer School Lower Austria is to convey practice-oriented approaches and methods in workshops, which will make it possible for the participants to implement aspects of "Industry 4.0" in their companies. Introductions to research and state-of-the-art “Industry 4.0” round out the programme.

All of the lecturers are renowned researchers and experts from industrial companies, universities and research institutions. They will offer sound specialist knowledge and provide participants with insights into the latest developments in an international context. The manufacturing company with all its challenges and interdisciplinary tasks will be the focus of attention.

International experts

The prelude to the International Summer School 2018 will consist of keynote addresses on the future of production from the perspective of research, production and education. Martin Herdina, CEO of Wikitude as well as researchers Matthias Husinsky and Thomas Moser from St. Pölten UAS, will report on "Augmented Reality: Where Pokémon Meets Industry 4.0", current trends and developments in virtual and augmented reality and mixed-reality-based collaboration for industry.

In workshops, experts will impart practice-oriented approaches and methods. The event will conclude with a virtual question and answer session with international experts on the topics of augmented and virtual reality.
