New Study Programmes in Digital Media Technologies

Digital Media Production, Digital Design and Interactive Technologies

Testing out the HoloLens at the St. Pölten UAS

Beginning in the 2018/2019 academic year, the Master programme in Digital Media Technologies will be transformed into three new master studies*: Digital Media Production, Digital Design and Interactive Technologies. St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences will thereby refine the educational profiles in the field of media and digital technologies.

Digital Design

The Master programme Digital Design will teach creative precepts in conjunction with current media technology. The instruction will provide a place to be open, creative and experimental. Your creative ideas will be encouraged and brought to technical realisation in projects. Students will be able choose from the focus areas of "Experimental Media", "Graphic Design" as well as "Photography". The course will prepare students for technical design in the fields of: graphics, photography, video and audio, media art and experimental media use, advertising and marketing, as well as education, science and research.

Digital Media Production

The Master programme Digital Media Production will cover the entire digital production chain for audiovisual media from idea to implementation to digital distribution. Hands-on, project oriented and on a high scientific level, new technological possibilities, creative design and economic demands in the fields of audiovisual and multimedia production will be considered. The study will prepare students for a leading or self-employed position in the creative-industry field.

Interactive Technologies

At the interface between humans and machines, digital (media) technologies increasingly influence and change socio-technological systems with: e.g. the Smartphone, Tablet & Co, the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 or assistance systems such as Augmented-Reality-Glasses. The Master programme Interactive Technologies will enable students to implement creative, sustainable, user oriented and technically flawless solutions at this human-machine interface. Students will be able focus on the areas of "Mobile", "Augmented & Virtual Reality" as well as "Industry 4.0".
