Social Work: International Week at St. Pölten UAS

From 11 to 15 April, the 18th SocNet98 International University Week was hosted for the third time by the St. Pölten UAS.

Annually, students and lecturers of social work meet in the course of the International University Week to exchange experience and to network internationally. This year representatives from ten European countries came to the St. Pölten UAS.

International exchange of experiences

14 lecturers and 78 students from universities of SocNet98-Partnership discussed under the motto "Voices of Social Work" current issues of social work and learned about problems and experiences of their colleagues from other countries.

Lectures, workshops, excursions and radio

Led by UAS lecturer Andrea Pilgerstorfer and UAS lecturer Alois Huber, 15 students of the Bachelor study programme Social Work organised the International Week. Next to lectures by UAS lecturer Kevin Brown, UAS professor Michaela Moser and UAS professor Christine Haselbacher, workshops and excursions to social institutions in the surroundings of St. Pölten were part of the programme. Workshops with the client advisory board of the Arlt Institute and with the Campus & City Radio 94.4 were an inherent element of the International University Week 2016.

According to organiser Andrea Pilgerstorfer, "The International University Week in St. Pölten was a great success. The organisational team of students are largely responsible for that. We hope that this event will take place again at the St.Pölten UAS in the following years."
