The St. Pölten UAS is going to extend its range of study programmes and further education programmes by another seven programmes and to develop its English-language portfolio further. “By extending our range, we respond to the specific requirements of the modern labour market, thus continuing to provide our graduates with excellent career opportunities. Furthermore, another two English-language programmes will strengthen the international position of the St. Pölten UAS”, emphasises Gernot Kohl, Executive Director of the St. Pölten UAS.
The three new study programmes will provide the students with a future-oriented education:
- Management und Digital Business* (bachelor)
- Creative Computing* (bachelor, English)
- Cyber Security and Resilience* (master, English)
Shaping the Digital Economy
The bachelor degree programme Management and Digital Business prepares students for management careers in national and international companies. The programme does not only convey corporate management expertise, the basics of economics and law, and project management – it also reacts to the digital challenges of the modern business world. A network of comprehensive knowledge, practised internationality and a high degree of practical relevance form the basis for a career in management. The study programme starts in the winter semester 2020/21.
Designing and Programming
The rapidly advancing digital transformation calls for experts who know how to plan, design and program human-computer interfaces. The English-language bachelor degree programme Creative Computing teaches technical programming skills and shows how this knowledge can be applied to creative areas such as user experience design, game design and web design. Graduates are able to plan, design and program the interfaces between humans and computers. The study programme starts in the winter semester 2020/21.
Securing Digital Services
The English-language study programme Cyber Security and Resilience is the ideal preparation for an activity in the field of Cyber Security and Resilience which is in strong economic demand. In addition to comprehensive technical and organisational security competencies, the degree programme provides the students with expert knowledge concerning new technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence). The dual structure of the programme allows the students to implement their acquired know-how in practical projects and under specific mentoring. The study programme starts in the winter semester 2020/21.
Comprehensive Range of Further Education Offers
In addition to the regular full-time students, there is an increasing number of gainfully employed persons wishing to extend their knowledge on a part-time basis or to pursue new professional challenges. The St. Pölten UAS offers a wide range of further education programmes which will be complemented by another four in the summer semester 2020:
