Symbolic picture SEMANTICS Conference 2018

Almost everything in the digital world is measurable and extensive data and information is available. Nevertheless, very few companies have a data and information strategy.

SEMANTiCS 2018, the international conference on the topics of big data, artificial intelligence and semantic systems, will be devoted to the state-of-the-art in digital-data management. The conference will bring high-tech research and the economy together at the Hilton Waterfront Conference Hotel in Vienna from the 10th to the 13th of September.

To business success with data

Machine learning, artificial intelligence and semantic systems for the automatic processing of data significance are key digital technologies for the use and management of data. However, many decision makers are still unclear with what and how they should begin to use the data treasure inside and outside of their companies. Implementing the megatrends around smart data in business processes will therefore be one of the focal points of SEMANTiCS 2018.

Profit from Smart Data and Artificial Intelligence

In the course of SEMANTiCS 2018, numerous implementation projects will be presented in lectures and workshops in order to show exactly how decision-makers can benefit from smart data, i.e. the convergence of machine learning and semantic technologies. Among others, topics will include: the use and limitations of machine learning in business, the role of knowledge graphs and neuronal networks for information management and agile data integration as well as the use and limitations of smart data for process optimization, customer-experience management and innovation.

In lectures, workshops and community events, participants will be able to discuss the future of smart data and artificial intelligence with international high-tech experts. For the five keynote addresses, the organisers have attracted renowned experts from the USA and Europe including among others: historian Daniel Rosenberg from the University of Oregon, web-expert Elena Simperl from the University of Southampton and Allan Morrison, managing director of emerging technologies at Price-Waterhouse-Coopers USA.

Founded in 2005, the SEMANTiCS Conference provides discourse on current developments and perspectives in the application of semantic systems. This year's event will be jointly organised by the Semantic Web Company, the Vienna University of Technology, the University of Leipzig and St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences.
