Top 25 Ideas for Future by St. Pölten UAS Students and Staff on Display in St. Pölten’s Inner City

Exhibition “25 Ideas for Future” Opened

The pop-up exhibition in the inner city of St. Pölten showcases the top 25 innovative and forward-looking ideas submitted by students, researchers and staff members of the St. Pölten UAS in the call for “Ideas for Future” on the occasion of the UAS’ 25th anniversary.

The 25 most innovative ideas with the greatest benefit for the general public and the potential to make our lives easier, more sustainable and inclusive are currently displayed in St. Pölten’s inner city. The three best ideas received prizes endowed with 1,000 EUR, 500 EUR, and 300 EUR, respectively.

“The high innovative power and societal relevance of the submitted ideas are just as impressive as the wide range of topics they cover – from sustainability and digitalisation to ideas relevant for the healthcare and social sectors”, explains Hannes Raffaseder, Chief Research and Innovation Officer of the St. Pölten UAS and a member of the jury.

“The majority of ideas address interdisciplinary topics and have been submitted by teams made up of members from different study programmes and research specialisations. Once more, this highlights the strong interdisciplinary orientation in teaching and research at the UAS.”

“As an innovative education and research institution, we always have our eyes on the future. Our 25th anniversary is a good opportunity to provide a platform for the diverse Ideas for Future developed by our students and colleagues”, emphasises St. Pölten UAS Executive Director Gernot Kohl. “Over the past 25 years, the UAS experienced steady growth and evolved into an ever more prominent place of education and research. We are a dynamic university with a modern range of study programmes and further education programmes that are strongly aligned with the requirements of the labour market. This is reflected in the selection of the 25 best Ideas for Future.”

“For 25 years now, innovation and diversity of ideas have been at home here at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. The UAS students are known for their above-average commitment and their ability to contribute their own ideas and put them into practice independently – which is exactly what makes them so successful as graduates as well. On the occasion of this anniversary, the UAS initiated a great competition of ideas that gives centre stage to the best 25 ideas for the next 25 years and beyond. Congratulations to everyone involved in the wonderful project presentation”, says Mag. Matthias Stadler, Mayor of St. Pölten, who is full of praise for the wealth of ideas developed at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences.

The team of UAS students Jessica Mellauner (master degree programme Digital Media Management), Sarah Reinprecht (master degree programme Digital Design), and Omer Szerer (master degree programme Digital Media Production) has developed the app “Dumpo” using a bonus programme to motivate users for the correct disposal of plastic waste. With the project “Aicosystems”, the interdisciplinary team made up of St. Pölten UAS students Tim Ehmke (bachelor degree programme Data Science & Business Analytics) and Mantas Bandonis (master degree programme Digital Healthcare) as well as Johannes Lücker from the University of Vienna and Pia Engl from BOKU Vienna wants to promote artificial intelligence-assisted urban gardening.
