Head of the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies (f/m/d) (30-40h)

Your Tasks

  • You are responsible for managing the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies (ICMT) with a team of approx. 50 persons
  • You take over central agendas of operational management (including budget and personnel responsibility), strategic orientation, and the positioning and further development of the ICMT
  • You coordinate the research groups of the ICMT and take over the management of the interdisciplinary centres/hubs
  • You stimulate and initiate RDI activities and independently acquire third-party funds
  • You independently conduct research and teach in the field of Media and Digital Technologies
  • You promote the connection between research, knowledge transfer, and teaching
  •  You engage in networking with relevant partners in regional, national, and international contexts

Your offer to us

  • Successfully completed technical study programme: PhD required, habilitation is an advantage
  • Own research and publication activity in relevant research fields of the ICMT
  • Comprehensive experience in the acquisition of third-party funds (national/international research promotion and contract research)
  • High level of expertise and good networks in the area of Digital Technologies and Media (media production, media management, media informatics) at the national and European levels
  • Good knowledge of current concepts in higher education didactics and knowledge transfer (teaching experience desirable)
  • Experience in the management of interdisciplinary research teams (preferably in the higher education sector)
  • Very good written and oral English language skills (for international applicants: at least basic knowledge of the German language and willingness to learn more)
