Jochen Hense is the new Academic Director for Degree Programme IT Security

Our Department of Computer Science and Security restructures the leadership of the degree programme IT Security. Jochen Hense, expert in the field of software architecture and security, takes over the bachelor degree programme as of 1 July. Hense brings longstanding leadership experience in the private sector and expertise in higher education to his new position.

Future-Oriented Education

Extensive Experience

Following his studies in computer science at TU Wien, Jochen Hense held several leading positions at the Austria Card GmbH, among other things as Head of Research and Development and as Executive Director from 2011 to 2015. In addition to further positions as Executive Director of the SASSS GmbH (Secure Austrian Software Solutions and Services) and Head of New Products & Head of Architecture and Core Services with the Software Daten Service GmbH, Hense also worked in den field of teaching and research at FH Campus Wien.

IT Security at the St. Pölten UAS

With this 360-degree education in all core areas of IT Security, students are optimally prepared to enter the professional world. The curriculum offers a combination of computer science, management and teamwork among students. A close connection to computer science research at our university of applied sciences and modern labs and working places provide students with excellent conditions for studying.

After their graduation, students may enter multiple professional fields, for example as security officers, security architects, or security consultants. After they have gathered enough professional experience, they can also go on to work as an executive or at the management level.
