The university therefore complies with the current national and European data protection regulations. The St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH) would like to briefly explain the most important aspects of the applicable data protection regulations.
Data Collection and Purpose of Data Processing
Automation-supported data processing takes place for the purpose of processing your online application. By applying to the St. Pölten UAS, a civil law contract is concluded which makes automation-supported data processing necessary.
Your application can only be processed through the provided online form and by disclosing the required information (fields marked with * are mandatory). In case of non-provision of personal data, your application cannot be processed.
Furthermore, your data will be used for direct marketing purposes for internal study or further education offers (same or similar to those you applied) and for events concerning these study programmes or further education programmes. You will receive an e-mail, a phone call or a letter. This use is considered a legitimate interest of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. You can object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time by sending an e-mail to email@example.com, or in any subsequent e-mail, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing until its revocation.
Which data are stored?
We store the information provided by you in the online application process.
For how long are the data stored?
In case of a rejection, your data will be deleted within six months of the calculated start of the academic year – except for your name, address, country, e-mail address and chosen study programme.
For direct marketing purposes, your data, especially your name, home address and e-mail address, are stored for 3 years (starting from the initial contact) unless you opted out from the processing. In this case, your data will be deleted after six months as well.
If you receive a study place confirmation after the application process, the processing of your data takes place for the purpose of the fulfilment of the educational contract and due to the legal reporting obligation of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences which needs to be stated separately in case of the conclusion of an educational contract.
The collected data are used by staff members of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences for the purposes mentioned above.
In case of an application from abroad, the authenticity of the diploma can be verified by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Minoritenplatz 5, 1010 Vienna, phone: +43 1 53120 0, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org, or by the home university of the student.
In case of an application for a study programme or further education programme taking place in the framework of a cooperation with another educational facility (for example: WIFI, Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Zukunftsakademie Mostviertel), your data will be made available to the cooperation partner for implementation and administration purposes of the study programme or further education programme.
If you apply for a study programme in which online admission exams are included in the admission procedure, your last name, first name, date of birth, sex, study programme and date of admission are transmitted to the Hogrefe Austria GmbH, Graf-Starhemberg-Gasse 26/4, 1040 Vienna, e-mail: email@example.com for analysis purposes.
The data stemming from the processing activity "direct marketing" are transferred to a processor in the EU area for the purpose of handling the direct marketing mailing. The transfer takes place on the basis of a processing agreement with eyepin GmbH.
All data are secured on servers which are operated with high security standards and are protected against unauthorised access and misuse. In case of data transfer to third parties, the St. Pölten UAS ensures that those parties comply with national and European data protection regulations.
