Privacy policy regarding registration for events

Privacy notice

As a data controller, Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH, Matthias Corvinus-Strasse 15, 3100 St. Pölten, datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at, takes data protection and confidentiality very seriously, and therefore complies with all applicable national and European data protection regulations. An overview of the key aspects of Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH’s privacy policy is provided below.

Data collection and purpose of processing

Data are processed for the purpose of your registration for the event you wish to attend. Such registration represents a contract to participate under civil law. Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH electronically processes all of the personal data you provide when registering.
Registration is only possible by entering the required information (obligatory fields are marked ‘*’) in the online form provided. Your registration request cannot be accepted if you do not provide the required data.

Your data are also used for direct marketing of university events similar to those for which you have registered; you will receive information on such events by e-mail or post. Such use of data is in the legitimate interest of Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH. You can withdraw your consent to such processing for direct marketing purposes at any time by sending an e-mail to datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at or writing to St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences’ postal address.
By taking part in an event, participants acknowledge that during the event, videos and sound recordings may be made, and/or photographs taken, that feature participants. Such use is in the legitimate interest of Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH. You can withdraw your consent to such processing for direct marketing purposes at any time by sending an e-mail to datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at or by notifying one of our employees at the event in person.

Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH reserves the right to use the videos, photographs and/or sound recordings free of charge, and without restrictions as to time, place or substance, for the following purposes:

  • Publication and distribution on the Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH website
  • Publication on social media platforms
  • Internal purposes, including film presentations as part of internal university events, as well as use on the intranet and in internal communication systems
  • Use in printed materials

Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH also has the exclusive and transferable right to use all video and/or sound recordings made of or provided by participants, and/or photographs taken of or provided by participants, as well as the works produced during recording and/or shooting and after editing of the images and/or recordings, and the results of such works or parts thereof, or to allow such recordings, photographs and works to be used. The participant warrants that any materials provided are free from third party rights and undertakes to indemnify and hold harmless Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH in this respect.

The transfer of rights also includes rights to reproduction, publication and distribution, public showing, transmission and playing, rental/lending rights, as well as the right to make the recordings and/or photographs publicly available. The right to unrestricted or partial further transfer and/or licensing of the transferred rights of use to third parties, or to authorise third parties to use such recordings and/or photographs is also included.

The right to edit the aforementioned video or sound recordings and/or photographs, and the works and results produced during recording and/or shooting and after editing of the images and/or recordings (including the right to translation into or dubbing in other languages), and the right to combine the recordings and/or photographs in full or in part with other works are also expressly transferred.

What data are stored?

We save the information you enter and send to us in the registration form. This includes your title, first and last name, e-mail address, street, house number, postcode and town/city.

How long do we store your data?

Data that are used for direct marketing purposes are deleted at the latest three years after the last date on which you contacted us, unless you consent to a longer retention period. If payments for participation fees or other money transfers have been made, Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH is obliged to store such data for seven years pursuant to tax regulations. Data relating to images/recordings will be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose of processing. This depends in particular on the following criteria:

  • Type of image
  • Situation in which the image/recording was made
  • Suitability for representation of the company’s history
  • Suitability for use in connection with anniversaries and commemorative publications
  • Degree of encroachment on the confidentiality-related interests of the data subject

Recipients of data

The collected data will be used exclusively by employees of Fachhochschule St. Pölten GmbH, Matthias Corvinus-Strasse 15, 3100 St. Pölten, for the aforementioned purposes.
All data are stored on servers that are operated to high security standards and are protected against unauthorised access and abuse.
