The St. Pölten UAS has been awarded a total of 40 new study places by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) from the autumn of 2024:

Focus on STEM and Innovative Programmes

In its current tender, the BMBWF focused on the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and on digitalisation, among other things. All in all, there will be 353 additional study places at the UAS level and a total of 13 new study programmes from the winter semester 2024/25. The majority of these study places (70%) will become available in new and innovative programmes.

This is the second stage of expansion which, according to the current development and financing plan for universities of applied sciences, is to result in a total of 1,050 additional publicly funded UAS first-semester study places by 2026.

“Excellent Work in Teaching, Research, and Organisation”

“Digital technologies continue to be very much on the advance. There is a strong demand for our study programmes in this field. Of course, we are very happy to be able to offer another 40 study places – a relatively high number – in these future-oriented disciplines from the autumn. Our graduates are much in demand in the labour market, which goes to show the high quality and relevance of our programmes”, says St. Pölten UAS CEO Hannes Raffaseder. “The Academic Directors and their teams have been doing a great job in teaching, research, and the organisation of study operations for many years. A big thank you all of them!”
