Great Interest in Study Programmes

Number of Applicants Grows Considerably

Main hall of St. Pölten UAS

Despite the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the number of applications for study places at the St. Pölten UAS has grown considerably this year with currently more than four applicants to each place. Following the lockdown, the St. Pölten UAS was quick to offer interested persons an alternative to the previously planned information events and appearances at fairs in the form of digital formats such as the online.infodays and the individual chat counselling. The admission interviews were first carried out exclusively online this year as well.

E-Learning and Virtual Counselling Services

In mid-March, the St. Pölten UAS successfully switched its entire teaching activities to e-learning within only a couple of days, and alternative concepts for planned information events for prospective students were quickly designed as well: instead of the open.days planned for mid-March, the virtual open house days at the beginning of April gave interested persons the opportunity to obtain information on the entire range of study programmes and further education programmes and to get in touch with the Academic Directors. Moreover, the online chat counselling was an opportunity to ask questions directly and to engage in exchange with UAS representatives. Special info dates with the individual study and further education programmes took place online as well.

Four Applicants per Study Place

The comprehensive range of offers in the fields of media, economics, digital technologies, computer science, security, mobility, health sciences, and social sciences attracted more applicants this year than ever before: the St. Pölten UAS received more than 4,000 applications for its approximately 1,000 beginners’ study places. “The St. Pölten UAS offers a broad spectrum of future-oriented study programmes and further education programmes, highly qualified lecturers, a modern infrastructure, and ideal accessibility. We are very glad to receive so many expressions of interest in our university despite the challenging circumstances”, says St. Pölten UAS Executive Director Gernot Kohl.

New Study Programmes from Autumn 2020

The new study year will see the start of three new degree programmes at the St. Pölten UAS: Management & Digital Business (bachelor), Creative Computing (bachelor, English), and Cyber Security and Resilience* (master, English). In addition, the comprehensive range of further education offers will be expanded as well.

For most study programmes, the application deadline for the upcoming study year has already expired. However, there are some programmes that still accept applications. For further information, please go to www.fhstp.ac.at.
