International Week at the St. Pölten UAS

Virtual Networking Event with Experts from 12 Countries

From 23 to 27 November, the St. Pölten UAS’ International Week offers a platform for exchange between experts and students from all over the world

From 23 to 27 November, the St. Pölten UAS’ International Week offers a platform for exchange between experts and students from all over the world on topics such as networking, student and staff mobility and collaboration with partner universities.

The week was rounded off with the Go International Day.

Direct Exchange

Over the course of the International Week, international experts from the fields of mobility, social sciences, media and digital technologies provided compelling insights into their areas of expertise and discussed possibilities for international collaboration.

One of the week’s highlights was the Go International Day where students could enter into direct conversation with the St. Pölten UAS’ partner universities from all over the world.

Core Element of Internationalisation

“Our exchange of students, lecturers and staff with our partner universities is the core element of internationalisation at the St. Pölten UAS. Especially in such challenging times as these, it is of great importance to enable students to gain experience abroad when possible and inform them on funding options. We look optimistically into the future and hope that physical international mobility will be fully possible once again in the study year 2021/22“, says Daniela Lohner, Head of the Service Unit International Relations at the St. Pölten UAS.

International Networking

The Go International Day provides students with the perfect opportunity to establish first contacts with 20 of our partner universities and get to know their representatives online. The presentation of the app “relax-concentrate-create“ by Michael Doerk from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts was a special highlight.

At the International Café, students used the possibility to chat with incoming students, former exchange students and interns, buddies from the International Student Network, and the staff members of the International Relations Team in an informal atmosphere.

International Collaborations at the St. Pölten UAS

The St. Pölten UAS currently has over 157 partner universities in Europe, Asia, Africa and the US.

The departments regularly organise “International Weeks“ for students and staff members to promote exchange with other universities. Guest lecturers from all over the world teach in the study programmes within the framework of programmes such as Erasmus and Fulbright.

Partnerships in numerous research projects constitute another field of international collaboration at the St. Pölten UAS.

Learning Together – Learning from Each Other

“Establishing and maintaining international contacts does not only guarantee the acquisition of vital intercultural and linguistic competencies, it also contributes to high quality in teaching and research as we learn both together and from each other to further develop our skills“, says Lohner.
