The Lower Austrian Science Academy, a format for personal further development and exchange, offers young people aged 14 or older the opportunity to engage in scientific topics.

Universities in Lower Austria recently hosted the first workshops – and the St. Pölten UAS was one of them. The Science Academy covers a total of 4 semesters. There is one workshop every month and an additional one-week teaching block in the summer.

Contribution of St. Pölten UAS on “Smart World”

The St. Pölten UAS contributed a programme item on the topic of “Smart World – Digitalisierung leicht gemacht” (digitalisation made easy). In this context, the young participants deal with the opportunities offered by digitalisation and acquire necessary competencies in technical subareas such as human-machine interaction, IoT prototype construction, Virtual Reality and 3D printing.

Further Workshops

The Science Academy will feature further seminars on the following topics by the indicated institutions: biotechnology (IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems), history and culture (Institute for Jewish History in Austria in collaboration with humanistic institutions and museums in Lower Austria), media and media use (Danube University Krems), and Space (TU Wien). The St. Pölten UAS is involved in the workshops on history and media as well.
