Study Programmes in Rail Technology as Unique Feature

The railway plays a central role for the mobility of the future: The climate change and the mobility transition are creating a strong demand for rail specialists and managers. In the two study programmes of the Department of Rail Technology and Mobility, the St. Pölten UAS trains the mobility experts of the future.

“The study programmes and continuing education programmes of this department are a truly unique selling point of the St. Pölten UAS. I am looking forward to continuing and helping to actively shape the department’s successful path in future”, says the new Head of Department Frank Michelberger.

“The management of the master degree programme Rail Technology and Management of Railway Systems is an exciting new assignment for me. In future, I intend to further develop our strategic partnerships and to expand the ties between theory and practice in order to continue to ensure the success of the programme”, explains Ulrich Puz, the new Academic Director of Rail Technology and Management of Railway Systems.

“We thank Otfried Knoll for his outstanding and dedicated work for shaping our rail and mobility programmes as well as the department itself. At the same time, we are happy to have found such excellently suited and highly motivated successors for these leading positions among our existing UAS staff. We congratulate Frank Michelberger and Ulrich Puz and wish them all the best for their new tasks”, says UAS CEOs Johann Haag and Hannes Raffaseder.
