Junior Professor Rail Technology (w/m/d) (30-40h)
Your Tasks
- You are engaged in research-led teaching in the field of rail technology with a focus on the bachelor degree programme Rail Vehicle Technology, but also in the bachelor degree programme Rail Technology and Mobility and in the master degree programme Rail Technology and Management of Railway Systems
- You independently develop research contributions in collaboration with the Carl Ritter von Ghega Institute for Integrated Mobility Research
- You work on subject-relevant scientific publications and shape the knowledge transfer between science and practice
- You supervise bachelor and master theses as well as dual projects
- You are involved in the strategic and content-related further development of the study programmes of the Department of Rail Technology and Mobility with a focus on Rail Vehicle Technology
- You contribute to the operational design of the study programme (advertising, counselling, admission, ongoing marketing measures and events, exam organisation, point of contact for students and stakeholders in the study programme)
- You support the cultivation and expansion of this specialist area’s internal/external network
Your offer to us
- Successfully completed technical study programme with a focus on rail vehicle technology or a comparable discipline
- For a Junior Professorship, two of the following three criteria need to be met:
o Completed doctorate/PhD or comparable qualification
o At least 5 years of practical professional experience in the railway industry (national/international), including at least 3 years outside the higher education sector
o Teaching and research experience at the higher education level - Experience in writing and assessing scientific texts and theses as well as in conducting research projects (writing of proposals, implementation)
- Very good written and oral German and English language skills
- Willingness to teach on Saturdays (occasionally)
- Independent work style and excellent communication skills
