The railway - means of transport of the future

Future mobility demands environmentally friendly solutions and efficient transportation of cargo. Such transportation systems make high demands on graduates. Therefore they obtain technological, legal, economic and traffic planning know-how in this programme. In semester five and six students have to choose their field of expertise from one of the three specializations:

  • Railway operation and systems engineering
  • Structural engineering
  • Management of railway systems

“Hands on!”

Regular excursions, professional practical training, and exercises at the ÖBB Training Centre Wörth play an essential role in the practical part of the programme. In projects, students implement their know-how, work in interdisciplinary teams and apply methods of project management.

In the raiLAB the newest railway operation software can be simulated authentically:

  • Software application for planning and simulating operational processes and schedules
  • Simulation of electronic switch towers
  • Train driver cabin simulation
  • Software applications for planning and operation of railway infrastructure
  • Software applications for the simulation of reinforced concrete structures
