Values, Theory and Practice

Social work focuses on how individuals, groups and societies deal with their everyday problems, how they live their lives and cultivate their social networks. Through counselling, guidance and intervention, social workers support people in planning and organising their lives and help them to improve their well-being. They are active wherever people interact with their environment, they facilitate social change and work on solution-oriented approaches.

The study programme builds on the scientific foundation of empirical social research and offers you comprehensive knowledge, modern techniques and helpful instruments for your practical activity.

Practical Experience through Project Work

Students collaborate on projects which require them to work on the development and implementation of real-world concepts, taking a theory-led approach. The projects are usually conducted in cooperation with partner organisations and can be interdisciplinary in nature. Experienced social workers are on hand to provide students with the support they need.
