This development and test lab for interactive applications offers the students a large number of different terminal devices. The keyword “interactivity” is not restricted to PCs here but also refers to a large number of devices. The lab currently features a complete test range of state-of-the-art and widely used older smartphones and tablets as well as smart watches, an interactive TV, diverse interactive A/V devices, an interactive smart board, two multi-touch tables sized 42’’ and 50’’, and five multi-touch monitors. The equipment is used in many scientific and student projects.
A complete multimedia kit on each of the 20 well-prepared workstations allows the students to realise ideas without restrictions. The most important creative and development tools for programming, usability engineering and graphic design are installed on all devices. Via “Arduino Boards”, sensors for light, humidity, heat etc. can be connected to the PCs. In addition, six of the workstations are equipped with true-colour monitors and optimised for digital image processing.
