ECTS

ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) promotes the transparency of teaching and learning in Europe, and facilitates the recognition of academic achievements.

Study achievements made during a stay abroad are more easily recognised at the home university by means of ECTS. Credit is given for those achievements that were agreed upon in advance in the “Learning Agreement”.

ECTS credits reflect the total work required for a course. 60 ECTS credits are awarded per academic year, based on the legally defined minimum duration of study. Therefore, 30 ECTS credits per semester must be earned during a stay abroad.
