Making Science Matter: Eva’s Career in Digital Innovation and Research

Alumni Story: Eva Nikolopoulou

Eva Nikolopoulou has a mission: make science visible, accessible, and exciting for everyone.
Coming from a background in biology combined with physics, she always believed that research shouldn’t stay locked away in labs – it should spark curiosity in everyday life. “My dream? To show people the power of science in their own lives!“

But how do you bridge the gap between research and real people?

Through storytelling, digital tools, and a deep understanding of innovation processes – all skills that she gained in the master degree programme Digital Innovation and Research at the St. Pölten UAS.

A Master That Opens Doors – in Many Directions

Bet it in science communication, research coordination, or digital education:
Eva found the freedom to follow her own path.

“The programme gave me a broad foundation and let me specialise step by step – with real-world projects and lots of space for my ideas.”

During her studies, she helped mentor and manage a European research project – and later turned it into her job. Today, she works in international science communication at E³UDRES², combining education, research, and digital innovation across borders.

Coming from Greece and now working on European innovation, Eva shows how connected research, education, and people can be across borders.

From Student to Science Communicator

Eva uses everything she learned on a daily basis:

  • Design thinking & storytelling
  • Digital tools & project management
  • Intercultural communication
  • AI & ethics in research

Her master thesis? A deep dive into how AI can support innovative education – the very topic she now works on professionally.

“I apply everything I learned. That’s the best part.”
