Holiday Childcare 2025: Exploring the Campus
Four weeks of play, creativity and campus adventures: The 2025 children’s holiday programme made learning and discovery an experience
The 2025 children’s holiday programme has successfully come to an end: As every year, employees and students of the St. Pölten UAS and the Bertha von Suttner Private University had the opportunity to let their children experience campus life in an age-appropriate manner.
On four days during Easter week throughout three full weeks of the summer holidays, everyone met at the Future Lab or the Medium Assembly Hall. There, the commited carers from Kinderfreunde warmly welcomed up to 40 children aged 4 to 14 every day.
The strong interest shows that a family-friendly working and studying environment is both lived and appreciated on campus.
Exploring the Campus – Playfully and Creatively
Whether crafting, drawing, dancing, or playing movement games, the programme offered the children plenty of creative opportunities. There were also exciting discoveries and trips all over the campus:
- 22 July – Reading volunteers in the library
The reading volunteers invited the children to a special storytelling session with Kamishibai, a Japanese paper theatre that brings stories to life in a vivid and fairy-tale-like way. - 30 July – On air with Campus & City Radio
At the radio studio, the children got to speak live into the microphone, present their favourite songs, and take a behind-the-scenes look at the editorial team. An exciting experience that no one will forget quickly.
Thanks and Outlook for 2026
A heartfelt thank you to all involved colleagues, the carers from Kinderfreunde, and those who documented the activities through photography.
Teams at St. Pölten UAS can also provide insight into their work next year as part of the children’s holiday programme. Together, we aim to create another varied and exciting holiday experience for children on campus in 2026.
