Zeppelzauer on Leadership in a Digital Society
As part of a study tour by the Mandel Foundation, Matthias Zeppelzauer shared insights on online hate and digital humanism
Matthias Zeppelzauer from the Institute of Creative Media Technologies was invited to speak during the study tour "Leadership in a Digital Society", organized by the Graduate Unit of the Mandel Foundation in Israel.
The initiative brings together graduates from various Mandel programmes to explore the impact of digital transformation on society and politics. Participants work on solutions for both their professional fields and broader societal challenges in Israel.
In collaboration with the Vienna Digital Humanism Initiative, the tour included a session with Matthias Zeppelzauer, who presented his WWTF-funded research project "Counter Speech: Young People Against Online Hate". He discussed the dynamics of online hate, toxic behavior, and effective countermeasures.
"It was particularly insightful and inspiring to meet so many people with diverse backgrounds and to discuss recent challenges of digital humanism. I am thankful for the invitation and happy to support the initiative in the future," said Zeppelzauer.
