Gender & Diversity Awards

The Gender & Diversity Awards are a prize to honour scientific final theses with a reference to the topics of gender & diversity. The call is open to students and graduates of the St. Pölten UAS as well as for students and graduates of higher education institutions belonging to the E³UDRES² alliance.  

The award is given away in three categories:

  • Bachelor thesis at St. Pölten UAS, prize money: EUR 500
  • Master thesis at St. Pölten UAS, prize money: EUR 500
  • Bachelor/master thesis at a higher education institution of the E³UDRES² alliance, prize money: EUR 500

The Gender & Diversity Awards ceremony will take place on 26 November 2024 as part of the International Week:

  • 14:00-14:45: The finalists from the Bachelor, Master and E³UDRES² categories will present their work to the expert jury and the interested audience in 2-3 minute pitches.17:00-17:45: Keynote speech and discussion
  • 17:45-18:30: The Gender & Diversity Awards will be presented to the winners 2024

In the keynote speech entitled ‘Intersectionality is the (not so secret) sauce’, DEI expert Iketina Danso will talk to the audience about the relevance of intersectional approaches in working for gender equality and gender parity in all areas, sectors and spaces and the challenges of implementing them.

The entire event will be held in English.

Finalists 2024

Category Bachelor thesis

  • Johanna Fuchs: Herausforderungen im Ernährungsverhalten bei sehbehinderten oder blinden Kindern und Jugendlichen: Was ist in der diätologischen Ernährungstherapie zu beachten?
  • Johanna Weingartner: Auswirkungen von inklusiver Sprache in der Werbung auf das Markenimage
  • Lisa Obermüller: Was die Sprachpraxis der Fürsorgerinnen über die Konstruktion devianter Familienformen verrät (1950-1970)

Category Master thesis

  • Barbara Müller: Das weibliche Böse - alt, hässlich, trivial? Analyse der Antagonistinnen in Disney-Animationsfilmen von 1937 bis 2022
  • Hannah Jutz: Der feministische Dokumentarfilm: Entstehungs- und Produktionsbedingungen sowie Ziele feministischer Dokumentarfilme in Österreich und Deutschland
  • Tanja Ploner: Motion Capture and Gender in the Entertainment Area

Category E³UDRES²

  • Andreea Isfana: Diversity and inclusion. A new concept in the corporate CSR strategy
  • Ioana Antonia Tanase: Comparative Analysis of Intuitive Design Perception between Visually Impaired and Sighted Individuals
  • Yvonne M. Garcia: Analysis of the Impact of Social Media Influencer's Self-Branding Towards Women
