Ombuds Office for Good Scientific Practice

The Ombuds Office for Good Scientific Practice (GSP) is the point of contact for all members of the St. Pölten UAS as well as external persons who feel affected by scientific misconduct.

It promotes the raising of awareness for GSP and offers assistance in solving these matters. In his function, the Ombudsperson is free from instruction and acts in an intermediary and examining capacity – all queries are treated confidentially.

  • Execution of examination procedures in this regard
  • Independent mediation in conflicts with regard to scientific integrity
  • Raising awareness for GSP through networking and committee work within the St. Pölten UAS

The Ombuds Office CANNOT

  • offer general advice concerning good scientific practice (e.g., correct citing of sources)
  • contest decisions or change legal provisions
  • issue instructions to members of the university
  • represent someone in court

The Ombuds Office complements the existing range of support offers at the St. Pölten UAS and collaborates closely with relevant organisational units.
