Creative Media Summer School 2025
Looking back on an inspiring week at the St. Pölten UAS
At the Creative Media Summer School 2025, students of the Department of Media and Digital Technologies got together with students from partner institutions such as the TH Mittelhessen to discover new perspectives, work creatively, and engage in networking with international experts.
Both on campus and online, the focus was on ideas, exchange, and the question of what the media mean today.
International Exchange
Approximately 80 national and international students deepened and expanded their knowledge and competencies in the field of media and digital technologies during the Creative Media Summer School.
Students of the department’s media-related master degree programmes had nine workshops on different topics to choose from and seized this opportunity to increase their technical knowledge thanks to the expertise of international speakers from the realms of technology, art, and research.
“For us, it is important that the students can develop their creativity and, at the same time, learn the technical side of putting their ideas into practice using digital technologies. With the Creative Media Summer School, we provide an opportunity for the students to experience exactly this”, says Franz Fidler, Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Business.
Kick-off for AI Film Festival
Within the framework of the Creative Media Summer School, the kick-off event for the AI film festival “Frames on Zero1” took place as well this year. A panel discussion created room for a “symbiotic” encounter of sustainability officers, communication experts, media representatives, and new digital creatives.
The discussion featured Alexander Brozek (representative of the Lower Austrian music and film industry), Kerstin Oberzaucher (Digitalhandwerk), Karl Möstl (AI image and video artist), Christoph Pasching (sales & marketing, SCANTEC), Johanna Uhl (social media officer in the Upper Austrian youth service), Alexandra Streckova (AI artist), and Markus Tröscher and Thomas Felberbauer of the “Frames to Zero1” organisation committee.
