The fourth Creative Code Lab (CCL-4) of the bachelor degree programme Creative Computing focused on 3D/XR game development, 3D graphics (e.g., modelling and animation), and audio design. This is an overview of the Lab’s results.

At the end of the summer semester 2025, the students spent two weeks together, applying what they had learned throughout the semester to the development of their own 3D/XR applications using Unity. In teams of 3-4 students, they worked on their game story, modelled the 3D characters, developed animations, implemented object behaviours, incorporated spatial audio, and finally deployed their games using structured approaches.

In the course of this intensive work, the students managed to build cool and functional games.

The project aims to create a VR game together with a procedural dungeon. In INTE, the player finds themself in an IKEA warehouse where they meet with their stuffed animal companion, Yrsa. He tells the player that they can escape by building furniture out of parts they find in the store. Following a brief tutorial, the player can walk through to the level entrance and finds themself in a maze-like IKEA environment. Employees stop them by either stealing furniture back or trapping them in conversation and draining their energy.

Witch, Please!

Witch, Please! is a shop simulation game set in a magical fantasy world. Players take on the role of a quirky young witch who recently opened her own enchantment workshop. Curious creatures visit the shop with unusual requests, from enchanted swords to cursed dolls. The core gameplay revolves around interacting with customers, enchanting their items based on their personalities and stories, and navigating light puzzle challenges on the enchanting workbench. The game combines storytelling and fantasy-themed minigame mechanics in a cozy shop atmosphere.

ESC

ESC is a 3D Escape Room Game developed using Unity. The player acts as a small robot (AutomaBro) solving different challenging puzzles in a strange lab environment. The player can use tools like screwdrivers, potions, and keys to find a way out of the room through the dependency between rooms. Most importantly, educational aspects such as logical thinking are embedded in the game design. The game is built almost entirely by the students, including the models, sounds, and game logic.
