Center for Artificial Intelligence

At the Center for Artificial Intelligence, about 50 specialists conduct research on pioneering topics with a strong relevance for society.

Cooperation possibilities for companies and research partners:The Center is your competent partner for research and development in the field of artificial intelligence – for example, within the framework of contract research or funded projects.

Highlight: An Endowed Professorship for Applied Biomechanics in Rehabilitation Research (Province of Lower Austria) strengthens interdisciplinary research with a strong focus on AI.

Soon to Come: the AI Living Lab at the Campus St. Pölten

A secure and realistic environment for the development, testing, and use of artificial intelligence is in the making – to be opened in late 2026: The AI Living Lab allows for flexible AI development, comprehensive testing, and practice-oriented implementation – especially for handling sensitive health and IT security data.

It supports teaching, research, and the exchange of data-based questions. Schools, companies, and members of the wider public get insights into the opportunities and limits of data-driven technologies.

Networks & Initiatives on AI

  • E³UDRES²: European University Alliance – with the network “Human Contribution to Artificial Intelligence”
  • Datanauts: Community for data science enthusiasts – it originated at the UAS
  • DIO – Data Intelligence Offensive: Shaping the Austrian Data Economy – with a strong involvement of the UAS
